My Customer Avatar

This week, I took some time to think about my business and what my stereotypical customers might look like. In this assignment, I am going to describe, in detail, my prototypical customer:

My customer avatar would be a generation Z individual of any gender. Because they are college students, they will likely be from 17-25 years old, without children, living away from their parents and their homes. These individuals will be on-campus students with traditional classes (vs. online). They will likely be those who want to succeed in college, not just attending for the party life that comes with college. Most of my customers will drink coffee because they like the taste of it and the cool feel it gives them to be a part of a cultural "coffee-loving" trend of students. Playing into this stereotype a little more, they will likely drive sporty little bright-colored cars. They will prefer short waits and decent quality as well as cheap prices. My customers will enjoy doing schoolwork, getting good grades, and hanging out with friends. I can imagine their favorite TV shows being Greys Anatomy and The Bachelor. This person would be a customer of my on-campus coffee bike.

Personal Reflection:
I don't actually have much in common with my customer avatar. Even though I am a college student who likes coffee, I am not as our culture would call "a typical Starbucks kid." This is because I'm not as much of a trend follower as most people and so I may be behind the typical customers I will attract in my business.

  1. Hello Cason!

First off thank you for sharing!

I love that you included both your female and male stereotypical customer. Since we have similar entrepreneurial ideas and target markets, it was interesting to see how we constructed our customers a little differently. Within my post, I only included my female prospective customer, which is my main customer, due to the female to male ratio at the University of Florida.

    Great job!

  2. Hi Cason! I really like that you used the website provided to create an image of your avatar. I think it helps to be able to visualize both the male and female counterparts. I like that you kind of played into the stereotype instead of straying away from it. It can be fun to do this and it makes things a little more interesting! Thank you for sharing.

  3. Hi Carson, thanks for sharing! I think you did a great job describing your customer avatar as I can really envision that type of person in my mind after reading. I'm glad you gave us so much detail on their personalities. I definitely believe this type of person would be a customer of an on-campus coffee bike and I'm sure they would become regulars. It's interesting that you don't share much in common with their personalities despite having similar demographic traits.
