A Solution to my Identified Problem
"Students and faculty who enjoy coffee at the University of Florida are unable to get a quick and easily accessible, non-bitter tasting coffee drink on campus due to there only being one portable coffee stand, the Starbucks Bike."
In an attempt to build additional excitement surrounding our product, we would run a special with a punch card: If you buy ten coffee drinks (and get the card we give you punched every time), you will get a free one. I believe people will like this.
Next, we would simply take the bike around selling (if we are awarded a selling contract) our coffee to all those coffee-loving people here on campus.
This was the problem I described in my assignment 7A blog post.
In this post, I will be describing a solution to this problem:
The solution comes down to creating additional easily accessible, portable coffee options on campus to satisfy the wants of coffee lovers who are unable to get all they're seeking due to the shortcomings of our current option, the Starbucks Bike. My goal is to rival the Starbucks Bike and capitalize on its shortcomings.
- I would like to obtain a license from the university to start my own version of the "Starbucks Bike" with a different company, Elliano's Coffee Company based out of Lake City, Florida. Instead of serving a bitter-tasting product like Starbucks' Nitro Cold Brew, we would serve a sweeter, more enjoyable (to average coffee drinkers) coffee product termed "coffee cooler." This company, Elliano's Coffee, has several different flavors of this product that would be alternated over different business days to keep customers excited about what we sell each day.
- Here are two reasons we can provide this coffee in a timely fashion: It is a premade product (doesn't require preparation time during the sale) that we can get out to customers before they even have the chance to pay. Regarding payments, we would only accept cards speeding up out transactions. Our price point would be around the cost of Starbucks and we would market ourselves as "similar but better" due to our different tasting coffee.

Hello Cason!
ReplyDeleteAs I previously mentioned in my other comments on your blog posts, I am also pursuing a coffee-based opportunity! I absolutely recognize your opportunity and the need for it on campus, I think it’s an excellent idea.
I enjoyed your idea regarding a special punch card option - I also incorporated this into my opportunity. Moreover, I did not include obtaining a license from the University of Florida within my post, but this is absolutely something I would have to do as well moving forward.
Thank you for sharing and great job!
