Elevator Pitch No. 2
Here is my second elevator pitch for my coffee bike in ENT3003:
Elevator Pitch No. 2
Reflection:
Reading through the feedback on my previous elevator pitch was quite interesting. The most helpful feedback I received was when someone pointed out that I focused entirely on my idea and did not touch on what that business idea would look like. Where would I make the coffee for my stand? What would I sell? I didn't include this information in my pitch.
What surprised me the most is when people said I had prepared and practiced well when, in fact, I had made up the whole pitch during the recording. I didn't think any of the feedback I received was silly, however, some of the ideas given to me by my peers were very simple suggestions. I needed help regarding my messaging from a pro; this is why I sent my video to Professor Pryor. In addition to my peers' help, Pryor helped me with how long I should focus on my hook and what to do less of next time I recorded my pitch. Learning what I didn't talk about in my pitch that I needed to mention in the next pitch was super beneficial to me. This was the most helpful to me.
Based on this feedback, I focused less time on my overall idea and spent more time on the interworkings of my business. For example, where I would make the coffee for my stand and what I would sell. I included where I would go with my coffee bike to sell on-campus which I didn't have last time. I also included what I would be selling and how I would make sure that my coffee was time affordable for my clients. I also added a pitch to invite my listeners' help in getting my proposal off the ground. These were things I added due to watching other videos and reading comments/feedback.

Hello Cason!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this! I know it’s not always easy to record yourself and be vulnerable - but you exhibited a lot of confidence and did very well. I love how you opened with very relatable questions to most students at the University of Florida.
It’s obvious that you proactively implemented your feedback and took it to heart. The only feedback I would have is to also add in faculty to the mix, although we only have about 5,000 faculty members at UF, I think they could help spread the word immensely!
Best,
Caitlyn Torres
Hi Cason! I really liked watching your pitch because I think you appear very natural and genuine when giving your pitch. This is a great skill to have in pretty much any aspect of your life and you should definitely continue to use it to your advantage. I also think you did well at taking the critiques from the last assignment and applying them to this take.
ReplyDeleteHi Carson,
ReplyDeleteI like how you opened with a scene of struggling for participation points despite being exhausted. Adding how much college students spend on coffee was also a great point as it shows how much foreseeable profit is there. I also liked that you mentioned your previous feedback and how you sought to fix that in your new elevator pitch.
