30A – Final Reflection

This semester for me has been really fun!
The most formative experience was by far the development of this plan. I have been able to walk through a business concept in ways I hadn't imagined prior. Planning my exit strategy and learning what the customers want most and valuable tools that I would've thought to do much later in the process than I have learned here. I was forced to walk around and talk with people and learn the habits of UF's many coffee lovers. The interviews are what I will remember the most because they have been unlike any assignment I have been given at UF up to this point. I am proud of myself for stepping out to talk with people.

I believe I see myself with entrepreneurial qualities and characteristics, however, I don't see myself as an entrepreneur. It is hard to explain but it seems as if I am wired in a different way. Over the course of this class, I have made much progress in this development and will continue developing this mindset which I am very happy for. The class has helped shape my perspective on businesses and how I will manage my own in the future.

If I were to give insight to a future student in this class, I would say "dig deep and really come to learn." I believe that even if you never become an entrepreneur, there is so much you can learn. Develop your human capital in this class and become familiar with the content to you can succeed after college. Don't just skip the lecture to take the quizzes; do it right and you will reap the results of the successful people who took this class before you. Do every assignment on time; it's not very hard if you aren't afraid to stop looking for an easy way out of doing work every assignment. Come to learn and not simply to pass.
This mindset will help you perform excellently in this class, I guarantee it!

  1. Hello Cason!

As always, thank you for sharing and great job on this!

I absolutely love how you added a photo of your family to this post - this was very wholesome! I had the same thought regarding myself now exhibiting various entrepreneurial qualities - but not truly being an entrepreneur. I think entrepreneurs have to have financial actions within their business plans and ideas, not just ideas.

Lastly, I loved your mantra at the end with “Come to learn and not simply pass.” I wish I would’ve had this mindset earlier in my collegiate career especially, to truly want to learn and apply it to my everyday life. Great advice!

    Best,

  2. Hi Cason! I think you included some really good advice. Some to learn, not just to pass. I think as college students we sometimes get caught up in the grades and GPA, but it really is important to remember that at the core, we are here to just learn. College is a really unique experience that a lot of people don't get. We should always take as much from it as we can.

Congratulations on finishing this course strong and best of luck in the future!

    Sarah
